Round Two of wcpairings, is now live for signups!

White Collar Pairings is a fanfic swap for relationship-centered works. BUT! Just because it is a pairings challenge, not all stories have to involve teh seksi. Gen, slash, OT3, and crossover fans are all welcome.

Signups are open until April 25, and the signup post can be found on Live Journal (no mirror site for DW yet).

A link lies below to the rules, but they're pretty simple: Post a few prompts, tell us what you like/don't like to write/receive, and you'll be assigned someone with similar tastes. Write your story and post on the date you will be assigned. That's it!

Fic: The In Between Years

Characters/Pairings: Neal, Peter, El (gen), brief mentions of past Neal/Kate
Spoilers: If you know Kate's ultimate fate, you're good.
Content Notice: Non-graphic mention on off-screen non-con, child neglect, description of an alcoholic parent, brief violence, overall descriptions of internalized shame and low self-esteem
Word Count: ~3,300
Summary:   Neal's spent his whole life trying to waash away the stains that other people have left on him.  

A/N:  This is the only WC fic I've written so far.  I posted it quite some time ago on my journal, but at the time I hadn't found this lovely community and so never posted it here.  So I'm cross-posting it here now. :)  I hope you enjoy, and as always ANY and all feedback (including con-crit) is welcomed and cherished.  

A/N 2:  Though I wrote this as purely gen, and there is no romance/sex in the story (other than past Neal/Kate), I realized that if you wanted to you could easily read the ending as suggestive of OT3.  That was not my intent, but there it is.  So of course feel free to read as much or as little into the relationships as you want, and if you're an OT3 shipper just put your shipping goggles on and enjoy. :)

(When he’s seven, a boy named Hunter invites Neal over for the night. Hunter has a cool name, and a slingshot, and a Batman lunchbox. He lives in a green house with flowers out front, and inside he has two parents who are still married and who smile real smiles with white, even teeth. Their kitchen smells like baking bread and there are pictures on the walls.)
