Hi Peeps!

Due to some recent instances of spammy entries, we have decided to implement the moderation of new entries by new members.

What's this mean?

If you're new here, all it means is that the first time you post something, it will go into a queue to be approved by one of the mods. Once your entry (and you, for that matter) is confirmed to be legitimate, it will be approved, and your future entries will be as well.

For most of our "regulars," we hope this doesn't interrupt your usage or posting of the community in any way. While we've made the community moderated for entries, my co-mod [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13 painstakingly went through the list of members and ticked the box that allowed known users unmoderated posting rights. If we missed you inadvertently, you'll be approved the next time you make a post.

Please note this applies to new entries, not comments. All comments on this community (whether made by members, non-members or anons) are, as always, allowed.

For a rundown of why we did this, I refer you to this post.

Feel free to leave questions on this post or to PM me or kanarek13.

By popular demand, here's the post where you can leave prompts to inspire our wonderful participants who have signed up for H/C Advent this year. You can leave as many prompts as you wish but remember that these are all optional and the writers/artists/vidders are not required to claim them. Leave each prompt as a separate comment to this post.

If you're creating something for the fest and see a prompt you like and wish to fill, claim it by leaving a comment to let the prompter know :D

Hiya fellow Hurt-Comforteers!

Time to pick your date for posting your Advent works! We'll start posting on December 1, and go until the 24th. Also, if you have signed up but you are forced to drop up due to evil plotty things, let us know here as well *hugs*

Head to the comments to stake your claim - first come, first-served.

Hiya fellow Hurt-Comforteers!

Sign-ups for this year's H/C Advent are now closed and tomorrow the date selection post will go live at NOON EST. Mark your calendars :P

Because scheduling posts on DW is a bit tricky, and also to ensure things run smooth with the selection, the date post is going to be posted only on LJ. I hope that's ok :)

Below is a list of who has signed up for this year's round \o/

H/C Advent 2017 participants )

If the mods have somehow overlooked your sign-up or if you need to drop out, comment here and we'll get that fixed right away :) Comments or questions? Post them here as well :)

As they say, better late than never :) We're one month away from December so it's time to start thinking about our annual Advent fest \o/ I already know there are fellow collars who have glorious ideas just for this occasion, myself included, heee. So let's get this party started :)

What is Hurt/Comfort Advent? Well, it’s easy, actually: create publish a hurty or comforty fanwork and post it on a date in December, then cross-post it to the comm. That’s kind of it. This year for the first time we also have a mirror comm set up on DW -> whitecollarhc.dreamwidth.org so feel free to sign-up and post your entries there. I know some still prefer LJ, others are now stricly DW, this way you have both options open :)

Rules? But of course:
• Sign-ups are open now and will close November 24. Sign up by commenting on this post. All types of fanworks are welcome and encouraged.
• Date claims will open November 25.
• Works should be about Hurt and/or Comfort. How severe or not is up to you. Given the season, it would be nice if the works were related to the Holidays or winter season. This is not required for works (but will be for prompts).
• For fics, there is a 500 word minimum.
• All our other Fest rules apply (i.e. no RPF, warn for common triggers in your headers, all pairings, ratings, and crossovers welcome).

Sign up by commenting to this post. Posting begins December 1 and runs through Christmas Day. On December 1, there will be a master post - just post a link in the comments there, and your work will be added to the list.

What are you waiting for?! Sign up below.

Post any questions below as well.

It’s time for H/C Advent, Collars!

If you’re interested in participating as a writer or artist, sign up here.

Just like last year, we're also having a prompt post! This way, everyone in the fandom can participate, whether they’re a “creative” or not.

Of course, there are a few rules:

• Prompts must have a theme involving the holiday season or Winter/Solstice.
• Prompts can be as hurty or comforty as you wish.
• Participants are not required to claim a prompt. It's simply optional.
• Participants will claim their prompts by commenting on the one they want.
• There is no limit on the number of prompts you may leave, but leave them knowing that they may not be claimed.
• All our other Fest rules apply (i.e. no RPF, warn for common triggers in your subject lines, all pairings, ratings, and crossovers welcome).

So, prompt away, everyone! If you’ve got any questions, leave a comment on the sign-up post here.

Woohoo, once again it’s about time to start thinking about ways to ruin and then save Christmas for our favorite White Collar family!

What is Hurt/Comfort Advent? Well, it’s easy, actually: create publish a hurty or comforty fanwork and post it on a date in December, then cross-post it to the comm. That’s kind of it.

This year, just like the last year, we're gonna have a prompts post. Feel free to leave as many prompts as you wish in the prompts post. If you are a writer/artist/creator of other mindblowing media ( :P ) and you find a prompt that pushes all the right buttons for you, feel free to claim it by answering to the prompt comment at any given time between now and your posting date. And remember, prompts are optional, you don't have to claim one, you can just as well go with your own idea.

Rules? But of course:
• Sign-ups are open now and will close November 24. Sign up by commenting on this post. All types of fanworks are welcome and encouraged.
• Date claims will open November 25.

Sign up by commenting to this post. Posting begins December 1 and runs through Christmas Day; if there are more sign-ups than that, we'll just allow multiple postings per day. On December 1, there will be a master post - just post a link in the comments there, and your work will be added to the list.
