Summary: When Agent Peter Burke of the Vice Collar division agreed to acquire the contract of slave-turned-conman Neal Caffrey, he really only wanted him for his insider knowledge on the world of illegal slave rade. Neal, however, is determined to give the agent more bang for his buck to insure that he’ll never have to play prison slave again, eventually kindling a fire between them that they hadn’t even know existed. (AU slave!fic)
Author's Notes: The Vienna Gambit, a possible opening to The Vienna Game, is a very risky opening in chess where white (who has the first move) basically goes into full on tactical attack mode. If black accepts the Vienna Gambit instead of very carefully playing around it, black will get crushed. It's not a move you would use with a Grandmaster, who could easily work around it, but with a lower level chess player who doesn't recognize it for what it is.
