White Collar H/C Advent: Sign-ups

It’s that time of yeeeeearrrr…. Well, not really, it’s 60 degrees F where I am, but you know, it’s about time to start thinking about Holiday Fic Extravaganzas nonetheless!

What is Hurt/Comfort Advent? Well, it’s easy, actually: sign up for a date in December, and then publish a hurty or comforty fanwork on that date, and cross-post it to the comm. That’s kind of it.

This isn’t a swap, and it isn’t a prompt fest – just a reason to get some good fic going around the holidays, as well as to keep us all propped up during the ENDLESS HIATUS. You know, they call it “Hellatus” in SPN fandom for a reason – it’s unbeeeeeeaaaarrrrrable!!

Rules:
• Works should be about Hurt and/or Comfort. How severe or not is up to you.

• Fanworks DO NOT have to be holiday or winter-themed, though it would be nice (and a great excuse to get in some FEVERFIC!)

• For fics, there is a 500 word minimum. What happens if you don't comply? Why, it makes woobie!Neal cry, of course. You don't want to be the one to put tears in those big, blue eyes, do you? Of course not – you want to be rubbing comforting circles on his back, y/y?

• All our other Fic Fest rules apply (i.e. no RPF, warn for common triggers in your headers, all pairings, ratings, and crossovers welcome).

Sign up by commenting to this post. First come first served on claiming dates.

Posting begins December 1 and runs through Christmas Day New Year's Day; if there are more sign-ups than that, we'll, we'll just add dates at the end start doubling on dates. On December 1, there will be a master post - just post a link in the comments there, and your work will be added to the list.

May I ask if you changed "add dates at the end" with "doubling on dates" because you have a real life other that add fanfiction to masterlists (a work that I fully appreciate, believe me...) or because the Elrhiarhodan's calendar stops at December 25th? (Please, tell her: that's BEAUTIFUL!!! Congratulation for another great art!)
If you were looking for an excuse to add dates (and failing to find it) you could extend to Christmas Time: from Christmas day till the first Sunday after January 6th (in Roman Catholic Church's calendar). [This year using Catholic calendar for Advent is NOT helping: Advent Time begins 4 Sundays before Christmas, so you would LOSE December 1th :-) ]

Not sure what you're asking, Anon, but I'll try to answer?

The sign-ups filled up in less than a day, so today I added days for sign-ups through Jan 1. If those last 7 fill up, I will then allow folks to sign up for already-taken dates so that there would be potentially two fics on a given dates. Hope that clarifies?

And you are right - Elrhiarhodan has outdone herself on this graphic!

This looks like so much fun and I really want to give it a try. However I really have not done much h/c writing and I am afraid I am going to suck at it. If I beg a lot maybe I can find someone willing to help me work through the story, of course that may mean a lot of hand-holding or butt-kicking depending on the day. If I can find a helping hand I would love to take December 31st. (I think I actually have two ideas and 500 words written for one of them.) :D

Until you posted the reminder about this, I didn't realize that you'd added dates at the end of December. Before that, I think the only ones left were right at the end of finals period here, and I knew better than to sign up for one of those. I was off the hook.

But now I see December 30 just hanging out there, sad and unclaimed. Curse you! ::grumbles to self:: Sign me up for that one? Thanks. I think. :-)
